Junior Fellows
Junior Fellows are talented young postdocs spending up to three years at ETH Zurich under the supervision of a mentor who is an ETH professor. The Institute hosts up to 15 Fellows. They are selected by the director, who is assisted by the scientific advisory committee. Candidates for Junior and Advanced Fellowships can be nominated by faculty members and senior researchers of universities and research institutions.

Research interests: theoretical computer science with an emphasis on fast algorithms in combinatorialoptimization, data structures, and combinatorics
Advanced Fellows
Advanced Fellows are young researchers with some experience after their PhD, who have established themselves as leaders in their disciplines. They stay at the Institute for up to five years. More information on the nomination procedure can be found here.

Research interests: the boundary of quantum many-body physics and quantum information theory
Senior Fellows
Senior Fellows are leading international researchers in mathematics, theoretical computer science and theoretical natural sciences, spending up to a year at the Institute on a sabbatical leave from their home institutions. They dedicate their time to research and participate in the activities of the Institute and of the ETH Zurich, for example, by giving a course on research topics.
How to nominate a Senior Fellow
Up to six Senior Fellows can be hosted by the Institute annually. They are invited by the Vice-President of Research at ETH Zurich on the recommendation of the ITS Advisory Board.
