Emerging topics in applications of optimal transport

In the past decade, tools from optimal transport theory have played key roles in many areas of applied mathematics ranging from PDEs, image processing, inverse problems, sampling, optimization, and machine learning. This workshop aims to bring together researchers from both the theory and the application sides to enhance cross-fertilization between these two worlds: applications can give rise to interesting open questions in optimal transport theory, and recent theoretical advances may overcome certain practical challenges. In addition, this workshop aims to maintain a research community in this rapidly expanding field, identify open problems and create a stimulating environment for establishing new collaborations.
